Deb Caruso meets the brilliant minds behind the good times.

If you have ever enjoyed a meander around the markets, frocked up for a fundraiser, enjoyed a festival for furry friends or enjoyed free, live music, chances are you have the Cartel to thank.

Not ‘the’ Cartel, but a professional event management and music booking agency, Cartel Music & Events. These creators of cool are the quiet achievers delivering good times across the region with more than 220 events annually, including 10 major events and up to nine weekly markets, rain, hail or shine!

Not only are they the largest provider of community events across the region but they have raised over $1 million for various Charity and Not-For-Profit partners over the last decade.

It’s no surprise that these activation specialists also have the largest database and network of microbusinesses in the industry – talk about a Cartel with connections!

For founder Lea Bye the events they don’t do are just as important as the ones they do.

“A key part of our approach is to apply our experience and understanding of the marketplace to develop an event that will resonate and deliver,” she said.

“Whether it’s introducing a new market, executing a festival or designing a black-tie fundraiser, ensuring that the event is needed and necessary and stacks up from an economic, social and environmental viewpoint is key.”

With event partners ranging from the Sunshine Coast and Noosa Councils to various chambers of commerce and not-for-profit associations and charities, Cartel Music and Events brings extensive experience to a broad range of events, festivals and activations.

Amongst the highlights from 2023 and in the planning stages for 2024 are: A Dog’s Life: Pet Expo; Feast Fest: World Food Fair; Good Vibrations Retro & Vintage Festival; Namba Street Fair as part of The Curated Plate; Mooloolaba Foreshore Festival; Multicultural Moon Festival, Mooloolaba; Peregian Beach & Coolum Beach Christmas Carols; and EARTH, a new Sustainable Living Expo to launch Plastic Free July as part of Village Vibes for The Village Peregian Beach.
