FLAVOURSOME

Relaxation is your top priority these holidays, but your taste buds should be doing the exact opposite! From all-chocolate diets to perfection on a plate, egg-cite your palate with local ingredients and flavours from innovative menus. The Coast has never tasted better.

From a humble bakery in Kuluin, The Wonky Loaf prepares batches of organic, wild yeast sourdough, pizza bases, pastries, pies and more! Now the Easter Bunny in macaroon form is coming to town! Pre-order your three-pack of Easter Bunny macaroons or buy in-store from today, 8 April – but get in quick! The Wonky Loaf is notorious for selling out early.

Pop into Happy Pops for happiness on a stick! Their all-natural artisanal gelato and sorbet pops are the perfect alternative Easter treats. Try the premium pops or create your own happiness by choosing a naked pop, dressing it up in chocolate and accessorising with any three toppings! Visit their newly opened dessert bar in Eumundi at the entrance to Eumundi Markets!

If you want a good source of nutrition this Easter, cook up some healthy meals with fresh, organic groceries from Greensmith Grocers. Not only have the team sourced the best certified organic food, but their popular market nights can help you connect with suppliers and support local. They also host monthly cooking classes and regular in-store tastings and demonstrations!

For a premium dining experience, discover the jewel in Caloundra’s crown – Acqua Restaurant & Bar. On offer is a perfect symphony of simplicity with premium steaks, oysters, a great selection of seafood, chicken and pasta, paired with sweeping waterfront views.

Further north on the shores of Mooloolaba, Bella Venezia has been wowing diners with authentic Italian cuisine and a killer wine list in a stunning setting. Celebrate Easter with the flavours of Italy, and make sure to add our upcoming wine lunch to your calendar! A Beautiful Feast explores three imported wines from north-east Italy with three courses.

Why not join in the Easter fun at Paradise Rum? Over the Easter long weekend excluding Good Friday, enjoy live music and happy hour from 4pm to 6pm at the distillery in Warana. On Sunday, kids eat free with Easter egg giveaways and activities!

FUN!

When faced with two whole weeks of free time, having fun is the only thing on a kid’s mind – and probably yours too! Whatever your idea of fun may be, you’ll find it on the Coast. Explore new worlds, find inspiration in local galleries and cultivate a bit of artistic talent yourself!

Take the family to explore Brickman Cities, an interactive, collaborative and educational LEGO exhibition featuring the life and architecture of five of the world’s greatest cities – New York, London, Tokyo, Dubai and, of course, Sydney. This Easter, travel the scale-model globe from The Wharf Mooloolaba, on the first floor above Boston Shaker Bar.

This is the first collaboration of the year where all creative groups belonging to the Cottage come together to exhibit their festive creations. Take a drive into the hills and visit the Cottage on 14 April from 10am to 2pm and 16 April 8am to 2pm.

Frida’s Sip N’ Paint is a fantastic excuse to round up the girls, don your most sophisticated garb and enjoy a catch-up with a side of flair. HOT TIPS FOR HOLIDAYS

  • Book in early for dining experiences, performances and events. Tourists and locals alike will snatch up tickets before you even know they were on sale!
  • Pack a picnic before a daytrip or snag some takeaway during. The Sunshine Coast is scattered with stunning picnic spots like Cotton Tree Park, Point Cartwright or Buderim Village Park – you might just get the urge to throw down a rug.
  • If you’re day-tripping to popular Sunny Coast beaches, don’t trap yourself in traffic. Mooloolaba now has multi-level parking options at Mooloolaba Central Park n Go on Brisbane Road, just a short stroll from the Esplanade. Further south in Caloundra, you can score free parking in Cooma Terrace Car Park and Ormuz Avenue Car Park.
  • If you’re heading north to Noosa, avoid travelling into Noosa Heads. Instead, park the car at Noosa Junction Station, Noosa AFL Grounds and Tewantin CBD and hop on a free bus with Go Noosa’s Park & Ride service! Skip the car queues and ride the FREE 065 Go Noosa Loop Bus. Go Noosa’s holiday service runs until 18 April, travelling Hastings Street, Noosa Drive, Weyba Road and Noosa Parade.
