Lots on Our Plate: The Curated Plate 2024

Excitement is in the air for The Curated Plate – a 10-day celebration of all the deliciousness the Sunshine Coast has to offer, discovers Rebecca Jamieson Dwyer.

Nothing brings people together like good food and divine drinks, which is what makes The Curated Plate such a special event for our region. From long lunches and culinary cruises to mini food festivals and hands-on cooking classes, this epic feast-ival showcases the best flavours the Sunshine Coast has to offer – from the hinterland to the ocean and everywhere in between. Read on for a tiny amuse-bouche of what’s on offer – we hope it whets your appetite!

Fill your cup (and your belly) at three signature events: first up is Chefs in Conversation on Saturday 27 July, where celebrity cook Hayden Quinn will uncover the secrets behind four of the Sunshine Coast’s most talented chefs – Peter Kuruvita, Tom Hitchcock, Cameron Mathews and Stacey Conner.

Next is the highly anticipated Queensland’s Sunshine Pantry on Sunday 28 July – a new event connecting food enthusiasts with the region’s top producers and makers to discover the passion that goes into creating local goods. Hello Sunshine Magazine will be offering a VIP Experience of Brunch or Lunch with a specially-crafted menu showcasing the food and drinks on offer! Finally, the Sunshine Coast Asian Food Festival comes to Spicers Tamarind Retreat on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 August as part of an amazing culinary adventure that sold out last year! With delicious offerings from the likes of The Tamarind, Rice Boi and Spirit House, it’s sure to spice up your weekend.

In between and all around, there will be breakfasts, brunches, lunches, dinners, masterclasses, workshops and opportunities aplenty to indulge in the amazing flavours of the Sunshine Coast!

As partners of The Curated Plate, we’re excited to once again be working with some of our favourite restaurants and producers to bring you a range of innovative events.

Elsewhere, we’re presenting the sold out 7 Step Chef’s Tasting Menu: A Journey to Italy at the fantastico Bella Venezia in Mooloolaba on Saturday 27 July, where guests will indulge in an exquisite culinary journey crafted from fresh and local produce, with matching wines and premium matching wines available.

We’re excited to be hosting a VIP Experience at Queensland’s Sunshine Pantry on Sunday 28 July, with a passionately prepared menu showcasing the best flavours from the region. Proudly presented in association with the Food & Agribusiness Network (FAN), join us for brunch with welcome drink from 10am-11.30am, or a two-course lunch with a welcome drink from 1pm-3pm.
