Tasting and trying local flavours and meeting the makers behind them? Sounds like a job for Deb Caruso who lined up to Meet the Makers as part of The Curated Plate.

At Hello Sunshine Magazine, we love connecting the community through storytelling – and we love to eat and drink and support local!

That’s why we were proud to again partner with Food and Agribusiness Network (FAN) and Visit Sunshine Coast to produce the mini-edition Pantry in Your Pocket: your guide to sampling local champions and getting a taste of Queensland’s Sunshine Pantry.

As part of The Curated Plate, the sixth annual Meet the Makers brought together more than 50 producers from across the Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Gympie, Moreton Bay and beyond.

Held at The Station in Birtinya, the event drew over 1,500 buyers, stakeholders and food lovers to celebrate flavour, innovation and community.

Hosted by FAN, the day connected makers with retail, hospitality, tourism and export sectors, before rounding out with a relaxed BBQ and networking session and then opening the pantry doors to the public.

From artisan cheeses and craft beverages to fresh seasonal produce, Meet the Makers offered a delicious taste of what Queensland’s Sunshine Pantry has to offer. With each passing year, the event continues to grow in scale and impact. Showcasing both innovation, sustainability and the people behind the products – and all with community and collaboration at its heart.
