Paddock to Plate

Community collaboration and homegrown flavours were on the menu as Matt Golinski worked with students from Maleny State High School to deliver its inaugural Paddock to Plate event.

Maleny State High’s sold-out Paddock to Plate event saw 95 guests enjoy gourmet canapés and a three-course meal prepared by Matt Golinski with students from Hospitality, Agriculture, and Events working together to bring the event to life.

The menu showcased food from the school’s farm, including beef, goat, lamb, eggs and seasonal produce. Community connections were strong with many local businesses providing assistance and donations for a gift draw, and local growers and producers lending their flavours to the feast including Maleny Dairies, Maleny Cheese Factory, Bellthorpe Avocados, Breathe Easy Farm, the Schofield family, Maleny Chocolate Company, and Pacific Farms Macadamia.

Organisers said the feedback from guests was overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the attention to detail, stunning location, and, of course, the delicious food. There’s already excitement about making this an annual event.
