DISTILLING DREAMS
Tucked away in the hinterland, Twelve and a Half Acres is a boutique distillery where passion, craftsmanship and a love of the land come together. Founded by former Defence aviator Andrew Lancaster after a 35-year military career, this small-batch distillery creates award-winning spirits using traditional techniques and native botanicals that celebrate the landscape. The property itself is part of the story: Andrew’s twelve and a half acres are a sanctuary of sunrise views and thriving wildlife, and he’s actively involved in initiatives like Care for Wildlife and removing invasive species. The result? Spirits distilled with heart and soul. From the Montville Dry Gin, the only craft gin in Australia selected by Qantas for a Business Lounge, to Lily’s Gin made with local kaffir lime and lemon myrtle, every bottle captures a true taste of the Sunshine Coast. And whisky lovers, rejoice – their upcoming Single Malt, finished in a vintage cask with rich dried fruit, caramel and vanilla flavours, is already creating a buzz. Made with intention, Twelve and a Half Acres is a delicious celebration of place and purpose.
