Slipstream Brewing, who were named as ‘Queensland’s Best Brewery’ at the Royal Queensland Beer Awards 2024 is opening in Birtinya with indoor and outdoor dining for around 300 people, plus a function space and Californian-inspired menu.

Nil Desperandum is officially Australia’s most awarded rum after claiming the prestigious best rum trophy at the Australian Distilled Spirits Awards. Congratulations to White’s IGA who won the 2024 Queensland Training Award -North Coast region, Large Employer of the year for the second consecutive year and were state finalists.
Our region owned the Restaurant and Catering Association Awards for Excellence 2024 in the Best Italian Restaurant, formal category with Lucio’s Marina, Tewantin winning amongst Finalists including Bella Venezia, Mooloolaba and Locale, Noosa. Verona Fresh Italian, Birtinya were finalists in the informal category as well as Pizza Restaurant category, with other Finalists including: The Tamarind, Maleny for Asian Restaurant and Restaurant in a Hotel/Resort; The Long Apron, Montville for European Restaurant; Juan Fifty Kitchen & Bar, Alexandra Headland for Mexican Restaurant; and Sunshine Beach Surf Club for Best Restaurant in a Pub/Club.
Double congrats to Bella Venezia’s Kristine Young, for raking in two prestigious awards at the 2024 Australian Women’s Small Business Champion Awards in the Restaurant category, as well as being crowned the Champion, Influential Woman. Very well-deserved for this local legend!
