Flexible, Fantastique Français at Flo’s Crêperie
Go with the Flo at this coastal-chic French restaurant, where the menu changes with the seasons and there’s always something new to fall in love with! Rebecca Jamieson Dwyer discovers the très délicieux dishes on offer this summer.
Looking for a fabulous, flexible dining destination where combining food and friends feels as easy and refreshing as diving into the ocean on a perfect summer’s day? Find it all and more at Flo’s Crêperie!
At this Noosa Junction favourite, the relaxed, authentic French menu is perfectly suited to a Sunshine Coast summer with such a comprehensive range of flavours which means no one has to compromise. Co-founder Michelle Guillemard says that’s the beauty of their varied offering.
“One of the things we cherish is the flexibility of French food and how beautifully it suits the way people dine today,” she says. “At Flo’s, one person can enjoy a traditional Bretagne galette while their friend tucks into steak frites, or the table can share Escargots alongside a mid-week special. Nothing feels out of place.”
The team loves keeping it fresh and introducing new dishes every season, with the latest additions to the dinner menu showcasing seasonal produce and stunning flavours.
The Tartelette Provençale feel like a breath of warm Provençal air: heirloom tomatoes, Meredith goat’s cheese, marinated capsicum and a punchy black olive tapenade on a delicate tart base.
And it doesn’t get much more French than the Escargots – snails bubbling away in garlic–parsley butter, served with a warm baguette that makes it perfectly acceptable (or more like encouraged) to mop up every last drop.
These newcomers sit happily alongside Flo’s divine dinner staples, including Steak Frites, Confit Duck, Moules Frites and more, plus the huge range of signature crêpes and galettes.
And each month brings something different on the crêpe and galette front: sometimes indulgent, such as the Dubai-inspired Chocolate Crêpe; sometimes bright and summery like the Mango Pavlova Crêpe; and sometimes experimental in the best way – enter Chilli Mango Prawns atop a buttery galette with fresh coriander and lime – zingy, vibrant and perfect for hot weather!.
The crowd favourite Hallouminati which sees a crispy thin galette layered with honey, thyme, pine nuts and pan-fried halloumi, has reached cult status and makes reappearances by popular demand, as does La Bert, a Sunshine Coast meets French bistro mash-up featuring Woombye camembert and prosciutto.
When summer’s in full swing, you can also look beyond crêpes and galettes to the refreshing Sunny Goat’s Cheese Salad – peach, marinated goat’s cheese and grilled almonds with lemon vinaigrette – or dreamy desserts like Mango Paradise with fresh mango, mango coulis, whipped cream, vanilla ice cream and macadamia crunch; and Floreo, a favourite for both kids and grown-ups that you’ll be dreaming about for days, with crushed Oreos, Cookies’n Cream gelato, Belgian chocolate sauce and whipped cream – what a combo!
Wednesdays and Thursdays are also getting a glow-up with Flo’s rotating mid-week dinner specials – fabulous French comfort food, available year-round, excluding summer holidays.
On Wednesdays, enjoy the sea-riously amazing Prawns à l’Américaine: local king prawns nestled into saffron potatoes with a rich, tomatoey sauce – a coastal French favourite that’s been thoughtfully reimagined. While Thursdays are all about the classic Cordon Bleu, crisp and golden with melted Gruyère and glossy jus – comforting, familiar and deeply satisfying.
What makes Flo’s special isn’t just the menu, it’s the passion and intention behind it. The team genuinely listens to their diners, with new dishes often sparked by guest comments, travel memories or a casual “could we have something a bit lighter?” or “a little more summery?”.
That feedback shapes the menu season after season, keeping Flo’s connected to and inspired by the people who walk through the door.
Speaking of connection, if you’d like to keep the French vibes flowing at home, you’ll love the Flo’s Crêpes cookbook – packed with recipes, tips and French flair – available to buy in store and online.
